About Marriage Science

Marriage Science is an independent dating and relationship research website. We test dating platforms from paid accounts, analyze primary datasets such as US Census microdata, and publish the results as reviews, statistics reports, prenup guides, and free calculators. No brand pays for a ranking.

Our Story

Marriage Science started in 2023 as a prenup resource. Readers kept arriving with questions from much earlier in the relationship: which dating app is worth paying for, whether an AI companion app is safe to hand personal information to, what a subscription really costs once the trial ends.

Coverage widened to answer them. The site now spans dating platform reviews, AI companion testing, relationship and marriage statistics, prenup guides for every US state, and free calculators built on Census data.

The People Behind Our Reviews

Our writers and editors open paid accounts on the platforms they review, read the terms, and work from primary data. Everything on the site is written and checked by the people below.

Emily Richardson, Managing Editor at Marriage Science
Managing Editor

Emily has edited lifestyle and relationship content for over a decade. Everything on the site passes through her before publication, where she traces each figure back to a named source.

William Carter, Senior Editor at Marriage Science
Senior Editor

William works in behavioral science and consumer research. He leads coverage of AI companion apps and tests each one from a paid account, including the refund terms and who operates the service.

Sarah Whitemoore, Dating Expert at Marriage Science
Dating Expert

Sarah has studied how relationships form and end for two decades. She has tested more than 50 dating services from paid accounts and rates them on what members actually get.

David Reynolds, Dating Platform Analyst at Marriage Science
Dating Platform Analyst

David covers matching algorithms, credit pricing, privacy policies and safety tooling. He rebuilds what a platform really costs per month, then checks it against what he was charged.

Olivia Bennett, Dating and Relationships Writer at Marriage Science
Dating and Relationships Writer

Olivia covers modern dating and relationship psychology, from app features to online safety. She works from peer-reviewed research and national survey data.

Sophia Martinez, Dating Platform Analyst at Marriage Science
Dating Platform Analyst

Sophia reviews dating sites and AI companion apps, and owns the 50-state prenup coverage. She reads the fine print in subscription terms and in state law. Her work is informational and is not legal advice.

How We Work

We buy our own subscriptions and test every platform from a real, paid account, documenting the full pricing ladder including the upsells that appear only after payment. Our statistics start at the source: US Census microdata, CDC vital statistics, national surveys, and peer-reviewed journals. Some links on this site earn a commission, and that never changes a score.

What We Cover

Dating sites and apps, reviewed from paid accounts, with the real cost of a subscription and what the credit systems buy. AI girlfriend and companion apps, a category almost nobody tests independently. Prenuptial agreements in all 50 states, plus the online services that draft them. Original statistics reports drawn from Census, CDC and peer-reviewed sources. And free calculators built on American Community Survey data.
