Fexting

Fexting is fighting or arguing with a partner over text instead of in person.

Fexting is having a conflict with your partner through text messages rather than talking it out face to face or by phone.

It happens when tension spills into the chat, with quick replies, screenshots, and reread messages fueling the back-and-forth. Some couples prefer it because text gives time to think before responding.

The risk is that tone vanishes in text, which connects it to dry texting and easy misreads.

Text can work for cooling off or stating a point, but it is poor for resolution. For anything serious, move the conversation to voice or in person where tone and repair can actually land.
