Dondi.ai Review 2026: Pricing, Free Limits and Verdict

Dondi.ai is an AI girlfriend site launched in January 2026, with a free daily chat allowance, 200-plus characters that remember you, and the cheapest yearly plan we have priced in this category at $71.88.

We may earn a commission if you sign up through our links. It never affects our rating.

The verdict in 30 seconds

Dondi is the cheapest yearly plan in this category by a clear margin, and the product behind it holds up: characters that keep their memory, a level system that gives the conversation somewhere to go, and voice notes on tap. The free tier is real, with fifty tokens and a daily message allowance and no card at signup. Two things are worth reading before you pay. The refund window written into clause 19.2 is twenty-four hours rather than the seven days shown at checkout, and the privacy notice allows your conversations into AI model training. Go in on the yearly plan with those two in mind and it is good value.

Worth it if

  • you want an uncensored AI companion and the lowest yearly price in this category
  • you want to try a companion site properly before handing over a card
  • you treat the conversations as entertainment and keep private material out of them

Skip it if

  • you are counting on the seven-day guarantee shown at checkout rather than the terms
  • you need your chats kept out of the training data
  • you want a native iOS or Android app rather than a browser tab
Best for: Men who want an uncensored AI companion with memory and will pay for a year upfront Visit Site

Dondi.ai is an AI companion site where you pick a character, chat with her in a browser, and pay to lift the daily message limit. The domain dates from 7 January 2026, which makes it one of the newest platforms in this category.

For this Dondi.ai review, I read through the terms of service and privacy notice line by line. I also priced all three Premium plans and rechecked the discounts they advertise. Then, I checked the domain and named operator against public records.

I also looked into the app to see who handles the payments and what tracking tools it uses. After that, I went through screenshots from a logged-in free account. Here’s what I found about how the product works, what you can expect to pay for a year, and the two clauses you should read before signing up.

The chat carries the score. For one thing, characters remember details between sessions, while the level and milestone counters give the conversation somewhere to go. The free tier is also genuinely useful. Instead of limiting you to just five messages, it gives you a daily allowance.

When it comes to pricing, it gets the highest score because nothing else we’ve reviewed in this category comes close to $71.88 a year. Safety and privacy score lower, though, because the privacy notice says the company can use your conversations to train its models.

My verdict: Dondi is clearly the cheapest yearly plan in this category, and the product itself holds up. If you decide to buy the annual plan, though, read the terms carefully. The refund window in the terms is shorter than the one shown on the checkout screen.

What Dondi.ai Really Is

The model combines a character gallery with a chat window. You browse a few hundred AI women, open one, and start typing.

Each character carries a written backstory, a set of personality tags, an age and a voice. The right-hand rail tracks a relationship level, an XP bar, a milestone counter and the number of days you have been talking.

On the homepage, the gallery comes first. The site explains what the product does afterward. Every card carries a Live badge and a like count.

Voice notes play back for one token each. A Media Studio button on the character panel generates images and video, and only paying accounts can create a companion of their own.

There is no app. The whole thing runs in a browser tab at app.dondi.ai, on desktop or on a phone.

Who Runs Dondi.ai

The terms of service start by naming Techcommerce Unlimited at 15090 Kensington Park Dr, Tustin, California. The footer on the same site, though, lists a different name: dondi.ai Labs Inc.

A California corporation called Techcommerce Unlimited does appear on the state register, with a filing date of June 2021. Its main address is in Fountain Valley, while the terms list a Tustin address. However, the state’s search portal blocks automated access, so I couldn’t confirm through the public register whether both addresses belong to the same business.

The domain record doesn’t add much. NameCheap holds the registration from January 7, 2026, while an Icelandic privacy service hides the owner’s details. As a result, no person or company appears publicly on the record.

The terms are dated January 8, 2026, just one day after the domain was registered.

What the Stack Says

The marketing site and the product are two different things. Dondi.ai runs on WordPress and PHP 8.3 behind Cloudflare. Meanwhile, app.dondi.ai runs on Next.js and Vercel.

Sign-in runs on Firebase, the backend is a Convex deployment, and the character images come off Cloudflare Images. This is a small, modern build of its own. Most cheap brands in this category use licensed white-label platforms. Dondi, however, doesn’t.

Card payments go through VonPay, and an NMI gateway tokenises the card fields. After the first charge, check your bank statement. The payment processor may use a different name instead of Dondi.

How the Chat Really Works

The writing style is built around roleplay. Physical actions appear in italics, followed by the character’s spoken words in plain text.

For example, Zahra Bennis starts by tracing a finger over an ancient Persian text and asking if you’ve come for the forbidden collection. That same tone carries through the rest of the gallery.

Characters also stick to their own backstories. Zahra’s profile places her in Marrakech as the daughter of an antiquities broker, and her replies often mention invoices, authentication requests, and the pieces she keeps at home.

Progression and Rewards

The progression system is more noticeable here than on most competitors. Level one requires 50 XP, while level two needs another 91. There’s also a milestone counter that tracks 20 relationship events and the number of days. Overall, it gives you a better sense of your progress as you use the app.

It’s clearly designed to keep users coming back. Still, to its credit, it doesn’t hide that. The bar fills as you send messages, while the daily cap tracks the same activity. In that sense, the game and the meter are really two sides of the same thing.

Voice and Premium Features

Voice messages are five-second clips that appear below the character panel. You can play them using a small control bar. The quality is decent, and each play costs one token, so the 50 free tokens give you 50 replays.

The upselling is constant without becoming too intrusive. A banner above the conversation encourages you to go Premium and create your own version of the character you’re chatting with. There’s also a pink Premium button with a 70% badge in the sidebar on every screen.

Editing Quality

The editing, though, isn’t quite as polished as the interface makes it seem. For example, one character bio in the gallery describes its subject as a “27-year-old Japanese none.” Still, that’s the kind of typo that can slip through when a team is writing 200 profiles quickly.

What a Free Account Gets You

Registration wants an email address and a six-character password, or a Google account. There is no card field and no trial that quietly converts.

A new account arrives with fifty tokens and a daily allowance of free messages. The chat window shows how many messages you have left. That way, you always know how much of your daily allowance remains.

Dondi.ai chat window showing eight free messages left today and a token balance
The free chat limit resets every day instead of once a month. Playing a voice note costs one token from the opening fifty.

Dondi holds two things back completely. Creating your own character is a paid feature. The reply-length control is also a paid feature. With it, you can choose between a short reply and a longer paragraph.

That’s a more generous free tier than most competitors offer. More importantly, it gives you enough time to judge the writing quality before spending any money.

The account settings are worth a look on day one. They show your credit history, how many tokens you’ve bought and used, and the subscription tab you’ll need if you decide to cancel. From there, you can manage your subscription if you need to.

How Much Dondi.ai Costs

Free Plan: Yes, and it is a real one. Registration takes an email and a six-character password, or a Google account, with no card and no trial countdown. A new account lands with fifty tokens and a daily allowance of free messages, which the chat window counts down for you. What the free tier does not include is character creation, the reply-length setting, and any token top-up beyond the opening fifty.

Plan Price Shown What You Actually Pay Real Saving vs Monthly
Free account $0 No card required Fifty tokens and a daily message cap
Monthly $14.99/mo $14.99 every month Baseline
3 months $11.99/mo $35.97 every quarter $9 a quarter

Premium is one product at three billing frequencies. The monthly plan costs $14.99. The quarterly plan works out to $11.99 per month, billed at $35.97. Meanwhile, the yearly plan costs $5.99 per month, billed at $71.88 upfront.

All three sit under a struck-through $19.99. Premium also includes 200 tokens each month. On top of that, you get an extra 500 tokens in your first month.

How the Discount Is Calculated

The yearly card promises you will save $168 a year. That figure is twelve months of the $19.99 list price minus the $71.88 you pay, and the $19.99 price is not on sale anywhere on the page.

Compared with the monthly plan at $14.99, the annual cost comes to $179.88. The yearly plan saves you $108, not $168.

The quarterly card does the same thing. It also advertises a $24 saving compared with the list price. Compared with paying monthly, though, you’re only saving $9 per quarter.

The headline discount follows the same rule. The 70% discount is accurate compared with the $19.99 list price. Against the $14.99 you’d actually pay, though, the real saving is 60%.

When the Yearly Plan Is Worth It

Divide the $71.88 by the $14.99 monthly price and you get 4.8. The annual plan starts saving you money in month five.

Anyone who stops using it early could end up paying more than they would with the monthly plan. That’s worth keeping in mind with a 70% discount, especially since people often use companion apps heavily for a few weeks and then stop.

Token packs are another expense, but you can only see their prices inside the account area. So, I can’t tell you exactly how much each token costs.

The Paywall Only Shows One Plan

Open Premium from inside the app and you see the yearly plan on its own. The monthly and quarterly options are behind a line of grey text underneath, reading “View monthly and 3-month plans”.

Dondi paywall showing only the yearly plan with the monthly option hidden behind a text link
The default view offers one plan, the one that takes $71.88 in a single charge.

Above it runs a countdown and the line “only 4 yearly spots left today”. Two screenshots taken minutes apart caught the timer at 9 minutes 49 seconds and at 9 minutes 29 seconds. It resets after about ten minutes instead of counting down to a deadline.

None of this is unusual on a checkout page. The reason it matters here is that the same screen carries the refund promise.

What the Refund Policy Really Says

Under the plan cards, the paywall carries three reassurances: instant access, cancel anytime, and a 7-Day Money Back Guarantee. The guarantee simply says, ‘Not satisfied? Get a full refund.”

Clause 19.2 of the terms of service says something else. You can request a refund “within 24 hours of payment”, as long as you “haven’t exceeded the stated usage limits”. A second condition asks that your consumption of premium features has stayed minimal, as judged by the company.

So, the checkout screen offers a week, while the terms allow just one day with a usage limit. Since both appear on the same site, it looks more like the marketing copy hasn’t caught up with the legal terms.

The Clauses Around It

The other clauses are also worth reading before you buy. Clause 18.3 rules out partial refunds for unused time. Clause 18.4 expires unused tokens at the end of the subscription period, and 19.4 notes that a chargeback can forfeit whatever tokens you have left.

None of this is unusual for a subscription service. It sends disputes to “the competent courts of the applicable jurisdiction” under “the applicable laws of the operating jurisdiction”, and at no point does the document name a country.

In practice, many companies honor the refund guarantee they advertise, even when their terms say otherwise, and Dondi may be one of them. Still, it’s safer not to rely on that because the terms only give you one day if you ever need to dispute a charge.

I’d like to see the blank jurisdiction filled in, since Clause 23 doesn’t name a specific court. It feels like an unfinished template, and it’s the kind of thing a seven-month-old company would likely clean up as it grows.

What the Legal Pages Do Cover

To be fair to the site, the legal shelf is unusually full for a platform this young. Dondi publishes twelve of them. The list runs from a DMCA policy and a content removal policy to an underage policy, a sex trafficking policy and a 18 U.S.C. 2257 exemption statement.

Two clauses are worth reading before you sign up. In particular, they matter if you ever need a refund or have a dispute. Clause 4.2 reserves the right to ask you for age-verification documents at any time, and clause 5.3 states that you do not own your account.

The age gate on the front door is the visible half of the same policy. It asks you to confirm that you’re over 18 and explains that all interactions are simulated and meant for entertainment only.

What Happens to Your Conversations

Several review pages about this brand claim it has a zero-log policy, doesn’t store conversations, and uses end-to-end encryption. The privacy notice on dondi.ai says none of those things.

Section 7.2 says otherwise: the company may process your content and interaction data for “AI model training and improvement”, along with safety checks and quality assurance.

Section 2.2 lists the data collected around the chat, including your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, session data, activity logs, and visit times. However, while it says the company keeps this data ‘as long as necessary,’ it doesn’t give a specific retention period.

The app backs this up. It loads a Microsoft Clarity tag, which records sessions and builds heatmaps of what users do inside the interface.

It also loads tracking tools from two adult ad networks, ExoClick and TrafficJunky. In addition, it shares a Google Tag Manager container with the public marketing site.

The policy clearly says that personal data isn’t sold, which is a good sign. The rest describes an ordinary ad-funded analytics stack, which is what almost every free-to-try companion app runs on. Weigh it the same way you would on any other site of this kind and keep the genuinely private material out of the chat.

The Numbers on the Homepage

Dondi advertises four figures: over 50 million users, 20 million monthly messages, 200-plus AI models and 3,000,000-plus monthly visits.

The domain is seven months old. Fifty million people would be a remarkable result for a browser-only product in that time. The claim also appears on the same page as a figure showing three million monthly visitors.

Fifty million signups and three million monthly visits don’t quite add up. So, at least one of those numbers must be counting something other than individual users. Marketing figures on landing pages in this category are rarely audited, so I wouldn’t put much weight on any of the four.

Dondi.ai browse page with popular AI girlfriend characters after registration
The gallery after registration. The character count here lines up with the 200-plus claim, unlike the user figure.

The paywall adds a fifth: “Rated 4.8/5 by thousands of users”. There’s no source for the claim, and I couldn’t find a Trustpilot profile for the brand to verify it.

The character count is the one figure that matches the gallery. On the day of these screenshots it held ten featured profiles and several rows behind them.

Deleting Your Account Is Genuinely Easy

Settings has a Delete Account button that works on the spot, with one confirmation dialog and no support ticket in between.

Dondi.ai delete account confirmation dialog in settings
Before you confirm, the dialog clearly shows what you’ll lose, including any unused tokens.

The dialog is honest about the cost. Deletion is immediate and permanent. You’ll lose your tokens, chats, and companions. In addition, the site will cancel any active subscription, so you won’t be charged again.

Plenty of sites in this category route deletion through an email address and a wait. Dondi does it in two clicks and tells you what it is taking.

Canceling your subscription without deleting your account is just as easy. Clause 18.3 keeps your access to the end of the period you paid for and stops the next charge.

Dondi.ai vs the Alternatives

PlatformBilled yearlyBilled monthlyOur rating
Dondi.ai$71.88$14.993.9
HeraHaven AI$119.64$19.954.2
Swipey AI$119.64$19.974.0
DreamBF AI$119.99$14.994.0

On price there is no argument. A year of Dondi costs $47.76 less than a year of HeraHaven AI. It’s the closest comparison in terms of features and the highest-scoring option we’ve reviewed in this category.

What the extra $47.76 buys at HeraHaven is a longer track record and paperwork that agrees with itself. Whether the extra cost is worth it is up to you. However, for many readers, it probably won’t be.

The small gap in the ratings comes down to the paperwork and the short trading history. On chat quality, Dondi is competitive with any of them. For a look at the wider field, see our best AI girlfriend apps comparison. best AI girlfriend apps

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • The free tier is genuinely usable: fifty tokens, a daily message allowance, no card at signup
  • Yearly Premium works out at $71.88, cheaper than most AI companion subscriptions
  • Account deletion is self-serve, cancels any active subscription and takes one confirmation
  • Prices sit openly on the paywall instead of behind a signup wall
  • Twelve legal documents are published, including a 2257 exemption, DMCA and complaint policies
  • Characters keep their memory between sessions, with a visible level and milestone system
  • Cancellation runs through account settings and access lasts to the end of the paid period

Cons

  • The checkout advertises a seven-day refund, while clause 19.2 of the terms describes twenty-four hours
  • Chats and interaction data may be used for AI model training under the privacy notice
  • Unused tokens expire at the end of the subscription period
  • The governing-law clause names no country, so no court is stated for a dispute
  • The paywall opens on the yearly plan, with the monthly option behind a text link

Who Should Use It

Dondi suits someone who already knows they want an AI companion, has tried one or two, and wants the same experience for forty percent less a year.

Use the free tier first. It gives you enough time to see if the writing is actually good. All it costs is an email address. The fifty opening tokens cover enough voice playbacks to test that side too.

If you decide to buy, make sure you decide within the first day. Clause 19.2 gives you only 24 hours to request a refund.

Deciding is not the same as using it up. The same clause also says you should keep your use of premium features minimal. So, using the service heavily on your first day could make it harder to request a refund.

That’s why it’s best to test the service on the free tier first. You can try it without worrying about affecting your refund request.

The one buyer I would steer elsewhere is anyone who needs the conversation to stay private. The policy allows chats into model training, and the price does not change that.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Dondi.ai?

Dondi.ai is an AI companion site where you chat with fictional characters, generate images and video of them, and play back voice notes. The domain was registered on 7 January 2026 and the service runs in a browser at app.dondi.ai, with no native app.

Is Dondi.ai Legit?

It is a working product that takes payment through a real processor and publishes twelve legal documents, including a 2257 exemption and a DMCA policy. The gaps are in what those documents say: the refund window at checkout does not match clause 19.2 of the terms, and the governing-law clause names no country.

How Much Does Dondi.ai Cost?

Premium is $14.99 a month, $11.99 a month billed quarterly at $35.97, or $5.99 a month billed yearly at $71.88 upfront. All three are shown against a $19.99 list price that is never charged. Token packs are sold separately and their prices are not published outside the account area.

Does Dondi.ai Have a Free Version?

Yes. Signing up with an email or a Google account credits fifty tokens and a daily allowance of free messages, and no card is asked for. Character creation and the reply-length control are held back for Premium.

Can You Get a Refund From Dondi.ai?

The paywall advertises a seven-day money-back guarantee. Clause 19.2 of the terms of service allows a refund request within twenty-four hours of payment, and only if you have not consumed premium features beyond minimal use. Clause 19.4 adds that starting a chargeback can forfeit any remaining tokens.

Does Dondi.ai Use Your Chats to Train Its AI?

The privacy notice says your content and interaction data may be processed for AI model training and improvement, alongside safety checks and quality assurance. The app also loads a Microsoft Clarity session-recording tag, so behaviour inside the interface is captured as well.

How Do You Delete a Dondi.ai Account?

Settings has a Delete Account button that needs one confirmation. The dialog states that deletion removes the account immediately, wipes remaining tokens, chats and companions, and cancels any active subscription so you are not billed again.

Who Owns Dondi.ai?

The terms of service name Techcommerce Unlimited at 15090 Kensington Park Dr, Tustin, California, while the site footer credits dondi.ai Labs Inc. The domain registration itself is behind an Icelandic privacy service, so neither name can be tied to the registrant from the public record.
