Daterview

A Daterview is a first date that feels more like a job interview, with rapid-fire questions and little genuine connection.

Daterview blends date and interview. It describes a meetup where one person fires off question after question, turning what should be a relaxed evening into something closer to a screening.

The questions often sound like a checklist. Job, income, whether you want kids, your five year plan, all delivered with little warmth or back and forth.

Some of this comes from good intentions. People want to date with purpose and avoid wasting time. Taken too far, though, it kills the spark.

The fix is balance. Curiosity is good, but a date works best as a conversation, with sharing on both sides, not an evaluation where one person grills the other.

If a date starts to feel like a daterview, it is fair to gently steer things toward something lighter and more mutual.
